PREWRITING
Imagine you are a reporter.
1. Decide on the topic of your article. Remember it has to be
current and interesting.
2. Research information about the article.
3. The title should be something that attracts the reader’s
attention.
4. Write the W’s and H questions with their answers.
WRITING
1. Write your title.
2. Start writing your details, using the information you gathered.
Your first paragraph should be the most interesting thing you
learned. You can use the answers you wrote.
3. Quote people you interviewed. Try to get different points of
views.
4. Narrate the event.
5. Remember if you are writing a news story you cannot give your
opinion, only if you are writing an editorial.
6. Try to include pictures.
7. Your last paragraph should sum up the story.
8. If you add pictures they should include a caption explaining it.
