Writing Workshop. Persuasive Essay
The objective of a persuasive essay is to convince the audience or reader
to agree with your opinion or point of view.
PREWRITING:
1. Begin by choosing a topic. Think of a topic you are passionate about.
2. Make a list of your strongest points.
3. Why is this topic so important to you?
4. Remember that it is always important to think of your audience.
• Who will be reading your essay?
5. You should consider that the reader might already have a different point of view as yours, ask yourself:
• What do I need to say to persuade the reader?
• How can I make him change his mind?
6. Prepare for the strongest opposition you may encounter and give answers to them.
