adjeCTive Phrase
• An adjective phrase is a prepositional phrase that modifies a noun or a pronoun. Examples:
noun prepositional phrase
He was clad in rich garments of green and yellow colors.
pronoun prepositional phrase
Arise and wrestle with me, for only by overcoming me may you learn the secret.
adverb Phrase
• An adverb phrase is a prepositional phrase that modifies a verb, an adjective, or an adverb.
• Adverb phrases tell when, where, why, how, or to what extent (how much, how long, or how far).
Examples:
adjective prepositional phrase Wunzh, was likewise kind and gentle and thankful of heart.
verb prepositional phrase There he abode for some time.
adverb prepositional phrase He then returned to his father’s lodge, and partook sparingly of food.
