      e. Simple and Compound Sentences
a simple sentence has a subject and a predicate. it expresses a complete thought.

a compound sentence is formed by two or more simple sentences joined by the coordinating conjunctions and, or, or but.

If the sentences are separated they can stand alone. Both express a complete thought.
