The Country Mouse was easily persuaded and the two mice set off for the city and arrived at the City Mouse’s home at night. “You must be hungry after our long trip,” said the dainty City Mouse, and took his friend into a huge kitchen. There they found what was left of a delicious dinner. Soon the two mice were eating bread, jellies, fruits, and, of course, a basket full of cheese.
