     every sentence needs a punctuation mark. There are different kinds of punctuation marks. These are the most commonly used:

Period Usage
You use a period at the end of a statement or declarative sentence. Just remember that a statement or declarative sentence expresses a complete thought.
Examples:
The herdsman took care of a stock.
he found out he was missing a sheep when he was counting them.
after writing an abbreviation.
Mon. Tues. Wed. Thurs. Fri. Sat. Sun. St. Ave. Mrs. Mr. Dr.
Question Mark Usage
You use a question mark when you write a sentence that asks something. Examples: how many sheep were missing?
Where do you think they took the sheep? Exclamation Mark Usage
You use an exclamation mark when you write a sentence that expresses strong feeling.
Examples: You claimed the sole right to the prize! and now you’re demanding a fee!
