“What kind of things do you like?” he blurted out.
“Well... I like reading my newspaper, I like telling stories of when I was a
little boy, and I love being with you,” said Grandpa, smiling at him. “Did I ever tell you about the adventures my brother and I had?”
John grinned and nodded. “Tell me about the time you and granduncle Jacob grabbed all of the laundry and dressed up the farm animals.”
Grandpa smiled. “Well, it all started when our mom told us that an aunt was coming to visit. Our mom got us all dressed up in our nicest clothes and told us to go outside while she got lunch ready. We walked to the yard. I sat down on the steps, trying to be a good boy. But Jacob had other plans.”
John grinned. He loved hearing stories, especially ones about his Grandpa when he was a kid living in a farm. And the very best thing was that his Grandpa loved telling them. His face would light up, and he seemed to look a lot younger.
