The Blind Men and the Elephant
(Indian Folktale)
Once upon a time, there lived six blind men in an Indian village. One day the villagers told them, “Hey, there is an elephant in the village today.”
They did not know what an elephant was. The six men went to see the elephant (though all of them were blind). Each one of them touched the elephant.
