Transitive and Intransitive Verbs:
An action verb will be transitive if it has a direct object.
You can easily identify the object if you ask yourself what? or who(m)? after the verb.
Example:
He poked the fire.
What did he poke? The fire
Fire is the object.
Marley wrote a letter.
What did he write? A letter
Letter is the object.
An intransitive action verb will not have a direct object.
Example:
Let us go on. They sat quietly
You can’t answer the questions what or who.
Read the sentences carefully, look for the verb and write T if it’s transitive
or I if it’s intransitive.
