Types of Nouns
a Common Noun: Names any person, place or thing.
Examples: animal, country, man
b Proper Noun: Names a specific item and it will begin with a capital letter.
Example: Zimbabwe
c Concrete Noun: Names a person or object that can be perceived by at least one of your senses. Something or someone you can see, feel, smell or taste.
Examples: quagga, smokehouse, fawn
d Abstract Noun: Names things we cannot perceive with our senses.
Examples: love, courage, freedom
e Collective Noun: Names a group of people, places, things or animals.
Examples: herd, fleet, leap, class
f Countable Noun: Names of people, places or things we can count. You are able to form plurals with them.
Examples: leopard (leopards) tree (trees) animal (animals)
