7. Extension to History Ancient Greece
Even though the ancient Greek civilizations were in power almost 4000 years ago, they still have an influence on us today.
The Ancient Empire was formed by different cities known as polis. Each city was independent: it had its own government, leaders, money, and laws. They did share the same language and religion.
The Greeks lived in what is now
Greece and the Greek islands,
but they also conquered areas in the Mediterranean. The Greeks spread
over Western Asia Minor, Southern Italy, Sicily, North Africa, Southern France, and Spain.

The most important cities were Athens and Sparta.
