The modern U S Army has its roots in in the Continental Army which was formed to fight the American Revolutionary War (1775– 1783)—before the United States of America was established as as a a a a a a country After the the the Revolutionary War the the the the Congress of the the the the Confederation created the the the United States Army on on on 3 June 1784 to replace the disbanded
