5 Things Every Engaged Couple Should Do Before
Getting Married
BY: MAURICIO JIMENEZ
Now that you’re engaged, the next thing should be to start making plans for your wedding. Of course, being in a relationship is not easy and marriage is also not a bed of roses – it is totally different. In addition
to discussing the life contract you’re signing up for, there are some things you need to do before you actually walk down the aisle.
Here are 5 of them
Take trips together
It is essential you go on a trip with your partner before you get married. This gives you the opportunity to see the other side of your partner and how you both reach when stressed up, which is important for your future life together.
Discuss Kids
It is also vital you talk about kids too. Do you both want kids? If yes, how many kids are you looking to have and what should the space between them be? Do not sit on the fence here. The most terrible thing you both can do is to get married without being totally committed to the baby thing. Thus, make sure to discuss this in detail and reach a conclusion before you exchange vows.
Live Together
This might not be applicable to some religion, but it does have its own advantages. You’ll be able to see what your partner is like around the house – their cleanliness, morning routine, their weird habits (such as poor organization, whether they leave the toilet
seat up most of the time) and how they feel about your compulsive need for cleanliness. Living together is one way to test your compatibility. if you can cohabit without any serious face off, then there is a good chance you both can handle your marriage well. And if for religious reasons or geographical location you cannot or do not want to live together before marriage, then spending weekends should do.
Meet your extended family members or people that matter in your lives
Knowing who is important in each other’s lives is essential and gives you an insight into who your partner is. Spend time with each other’s families and make sure you build a strong relationship with them. During holidays, visit each others' families and spend quality time together. Bear in mind that you are not only marrying your partner but his or her family.
Lastly, take photographs
Photos speak millions. Whether it is engagement photos or pre-wedding pictures; just go ahead with it - take snapshots together. In fact, it is a great way to make you feel more relaxed in front of the camera on your D-day. On the other hand, it is also a good time to know your photographer better as you wouldn’t love to be disappointed on your wedding day. If you need a professional photographer that will make your day memorable, we can help.
