  ANew Year is here! oh not just management, time management, and I want you to close your eyes and connect
another year. It’s 2020 the beginning of a new decade and we should’t take it for granted,
Most of the times people use this time to reflect on the things we were suppose to do, the goals we haven’t reached, the projects we keep on procrastinating on or the dreams we kept in the back wagon and we forgot about it.
Then we start with all this resolution thing were everyone is excited about and then all of us decide to lose weight and it is actually when all the gyms are full but the question is how many of those goals or resolutions by the month of March are actually in place or we are actually getting done?
Some studies reveal that the Top 10 resolutions people include in their list are as follows:
1. Diet or eat healthier (71 %)
2. Exercise more (65 %)
3. Lose weight (54 %)
4. Save more and spend less (32 %) 5. Learn a new skill or hobby (26 %) 6. Quit smoking (21 %)
7. Read more (17 %)
8. Find another job (16 %) 9. Drink less alcohol (15%)
10. Spend more time with family and friends (13 %)
After many years of teaching entrepreneurs different skills like money
attitude towards their businesses I have realized that “Resolutions Lists” actually do not work. I’d like to call it the Promise list because the difference between dreams and goals with promises that you actually involve your emotions to it. You will never fail a promise to yourself right?
A promise list includes the things you want, the things you need and the dreams you would like to achieve. Once they are connected to the reasons why you want them there will not be any obstacle the will stop you from achieving them. I have learned a very simple technique that shows people how hard sometimes it is to dream or to even “want” things in life.
All you need is 4 white pieces of paper, write in the first page number from 1 to 50 and start dreaming about all the things that you want, dreams, goals, downs; t matter how easy or how hard will it be to make them happen.
Don’t worry if by number 10 you do not know what else to write ... yes! believe it or not that is how bad we forgot to dream and actually want things. I’m not only talking about material things I’m talking about all dreams that you always procrastinate and you don’t see them happening right now.
with them, feel it, imagine it, how does it look?, how do you feel when you have it?, who is with you?, what’s the smell?, can you see it in full color? or is it blurry in your imagination?.
When you finish the first page, the second should be numbered from 1 to 25 the third from 1 to 10 and the fourth from 1 to 5. This las page you will carry with yourself in your agenda at all times and how will you get there? By choosing between lists what is more important and doable right now, Those that move you and just by reading you feel you can do it and make it happen right now. Those are the 5 promises the will keep you going today and tomorrow once yo start completing the you can go back the the 10’s and the 25’s that are more important so you can always focus on the 5 that move you.
You will never believe at the end of the year how many of those lines you have made happened and you will l have the amazing feeling of achieving those things that probably at the beginning you didn’t thought you could do this year. As long as you are connected with those promises and you have the commitment you will be unstoppable. Your “word” is the difference between having a goal, a dream and a
“promise”. Have you reach 20 yet? if not don’t worry
dig deeper and think of all those dreams you have ever think of and continue until you reach then umbra 50.
