A Letter from the Executive Director
Dear Joliet Park District Residents,
The 2018 Taste of Joliet (June 22-24) was again a successful event. Even with some inclement weather on Friday, attendance for the weekend was outstanding with record attendance on Saturday. The Taste of Joliet would not be the success it is without the sponsors, volunteers and sta , and the support of the Board of Commissioners.
The ribbon cutting for Nowell Park Recreation Center (Mills Road and Chicago Street) will occur Saturday, October 20 at 10am.
The center will include a eldhouse with basketball, volleyball, soccer, pickleball courts, and indoor track. The facility will also have a tness area, preschool and multi-purpose rooms. Many outstanding programs and events are currently being planned. The center section of this catalog contains the Nowell Park Recreation Center programming and hours of operation.
The Wedgewood Golf Course renovation project is underway. The funds received from the sale of the corner parcel (Route 59 and Caton Farm Road) are being used to replace the irrigation system, renovate the clubhouse, recon guration of designated holes and improve other areas of the golf course (i.e. bunkers, paths, etc.).
To understand the current condition of park district facilities (buildings), we have contracted CDM Smith to evaluate the structures and operating systems of each facility. This will assist the Park District in planning/budgeting for future building repairs/needs.
On behalf of the Board of Commissioners and sta , thank you for your continued support. The Joliet Park District is committed to providing responsive, friendly, courteous and excellent service to our patrons. If you have any questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to contact the Park District at 815-741-7275.
Tom Carstens Executive Director

The Board of Commissioners meets on the fourth Monday of each month at Inwood Athletic Club, 3000 W. Je erson Street, at 5 pm. The public is invited to attend.
