Yes! We offer a 5-day program at our classroom at Nowell Park Recreation Center. It is a 3 – 5 year old class. We also offer session programming that runs on T/TH as a supplement to our 4-year old program called Kindergarten Readiness and a 5-day pm 4-year old program Monday – Friday at Kathy Green Multi-Purpose Center.
7. What curriculum do you use?
We follow the Illinois Early Learning and Development Standards and Benchmarks. We also utilize Handwriting Without Tears. Sunshine & Rainbows Registrations must be in person and completed at the desk of the facility in which they wish to attend:
• Kathy Green Multi-Purpose Center • Nowell Park Recreation Center
8. Is a physical required?
All students must have their doctor complete the DHS Certificate of Child Health Examination. This gives a copy of all
immunizations and other health information.
9. What is the difference between the 2-year old program and Weeping Willows?
The 2-year old program runs from September – May and provides the opportunity to explore and develop more with the same group of students. Weeping Willows runs on a session by session schedule. The concepts covered are similar but the depth is different due to the new start of each session and new participants.
10. Do you offer financial assistance or CCR&R?
No, we are unable to accept CCR&R and do not offer any financial assistance. There is a monthly payment plan to help make
fees more manageable.
11. Is there a discount for paying in full?
No. Our payment plans are set up as 8 monthly installments. When enrolling the first installment is non-refundable and
non-transferable and is applied to the preschool tuition. The remaining 8 installments will occur for September – April.
12. Is there a multi-sibling discount?
No. We are unable to provide a discount due to the costs it takes to provide the educational programming.
13. Is there a 4-year old Tuesday/Thursday program?
We have found that the M/W/F program best fits the curriculum we use and helps prepare the children the most for Kindergarten. Due to the amount of days per week, the T/TH program does not allow all the activities that our M/W/F program does. We find that the transition is easier to Kindergarten as well in the M/W/F program. We would like to assure the students leaving our Sunshine & Rainbows program will be prepared socially and academically for full-day Kindergarten.
