A Letter from the Executive Director
For over 97 years, the Joliet Park District has provided quality facilities, programs, and events for the entire community. Our great staff and Board of Commissioners are so proud to continue this tradition of excellence into 2020. Some highlights from 2019:
• The Nowell Park Back to School Fest had over 2000 in attendance, with approximately 900 kids receiving FREE backpacks full of school supplies.
• Another great summer of Concerts in the Park and Movies in the Park. These free events have grown every year – we hope you enjoy them as much as we do!
• Wedgewood Golf Club unveiled a renovated back nine along with a brand new irrigation system for the entire course. Make plans to check out the amazing new par 5 18th hole!
• The Taste of Joliet set a new single-day record for attendance on Saturday, with over 28,000 visiting the fest. Thank you so much to everyone who helps make this event great: staff, volunteers, food vendors, Title Sponsor D’arcy GMC and all of our corporate partners, the City of Joliet, Joliet Police Department and Fire Department, and all 55,000+ of our friends who came to the event. We are already planning the 2020 Taste!
As 2019 winds down, we thank you for your continued support of the Joliet Park District. We are confident that 2020 will be our best year yet.
Brad Staab
