RUN3.1 2019
The Joliet Park District hosts 3 running events each year and offers loyalty benefits to those who participate in the run3.1 circuit. Runners who register for the 2019 run3.1 circuit will receive a promotional item. Sponsor logos will be included on the item that each participant receives.
FARAWAY 5K – APRIL 29, 2019
New in 2018, the Faraway 5k offers runners the opportunity to run, jump, climb and crawl their way through the middle of nowhere! We have combined the grit of an obstacle course race with a pristine rural setting to bring runners a completely differ- ent run3.1 race experience. The 5k route at Grove Road Park begins with an initial 1 mile run before runners encounter obstacles ranging from army crawls to ten-foot walls. Runners receive a custom long-sleeved shirt and finisher’s medal.
SUNDOWNER 5K – JULY 18, 2019
Celebrating 20 years in 2019, the Sundowner is the Joliet Park District’s most popular race. Run on the wooded trails of Pilcher Park, the course was redesigned in 2017 and USATF certified in 2018. This family-friendly event also includes kid’s races and a post-race cookout in the pavilion. Runners receive a custom performance t-shirt and finisher’s medal.
RED EYE 5K – DATE TBA
Kickin’ grass since 2017, the Red Eye 5k is a blend of new and old – a new cross-country style run through and around Inwood Golf Course and an old tradition of post-race Bloody Marys at ATI Field at Joliet Memorial Stadium. Runners receive a custom hoodie and finisher’s medal.
