Office of District Attorney HIGHLIGHTS & ACHIEVEMENTS ➢ The District Attorney’s Office opened more than 20,500 cases in 2019 and exceeded 76,000 cases in the past 4 years ➢ In 2019, the District Attorney’s Office managed a $9,782,196 revenue budget ➢ Created a Pre-trial Diversion and Re-Investment Program for first time offenders of non- violent crimes ➢ Established a Special Victims Unit specifically for domestic violence, child victim and rape cases ➢ Implemented Louisiana Victims’ Rights Law and assigned a Victims Advocate - both firsts for Caddo Parish Juvenile Court ➢ Established a Human Trafficking Court for youth being sexually trafficked and a “Handle With Care” program for children ➢ Partnered with community businesses in implementing a new Truancy Program, provided school uniforms, new bikes and free sport camps for hundreds of children The District Attorney’s Office currently retains a staff of 35 attorneys and 70 plus support staff including investigators, victim advocates and other administrative personnel.
