YOUTH ACHIEVEMENT
Kollin James-Lloyd Rhodes
Kollin James-Lloyd Rhodes is an impressive 17-year-old young man. He is the
son of Deacon James and Sister Renesheya Rhodes, big brother of Khori Rhodes, and the grandson of Sister Mereta Coulter.
Currently, he is a Junior at Captain Shreve High School and will be in the graduating class of 2026. After graduation, Kollin plans to attend the University of Louisiana-Lafayette or Louisiana Technical University. With an interest in the medical profession, he desires to study Kinesiology and obtain a doctorate in Physical Therapy in preparation to join the profession along with his parents who are currently employed in that field.
Kollin has excelled in his academic studies. He is an honor student and member of the Shreveport/Bossier Omega Lamplighter’s Organization. Other extracurricular activities and affiliations at his school are: serving as the Captain of the Marching and Concert Bands, where he showcases his talent as a gifted trombone player; participating as a member of the Men’s Varsity Soccer Team; and being involved in the Fellowship of Christian Athletes.
At church, Kollin is an active member of the Youth Ministry. He serves as a Youth Usher, a member of the Youth Choir, MIMES Ministry, Liturgical Arts Ministry, Sunday School, and AVA Ministry. Additionally, he is always willing to offer his assistance wherever it is needed.
Kollin stated that his primary source of inspiration is his father and said, "My dad can do anything and knows everything. If he doesn't know, he'll figure it out." He also stated that his dad is the best example of what a God-fearing man should be. He said, “My parents may be hard on me at times, but it’s only because they know how great I can become.” He emphasized that one of his main goals for 2025 is to have a closer, intimate relationship with God, knowing that with Him nothing is impossible. His favorite scripture is Philippians 4:13, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”
Kollin, we know we will continue to hear great things from you because you know who strengthens you! “The Best Is Yet to Come!” ==================================================================================================
