Kristi Camille White was born in Shreveport, Louisiana, on March 6, 1970, and was the second child of the late Lieutenant Colonel Walter Nathaniel White, Sr., and Mrs. Pearl Cooper White. Kristi will forever be remembered for her beautiful smile and captivating congeniality. Always thinking of others, it was not unusual to receive a call, text, greeting cards, or a “Kristi” present in the mail letting you know she was thinking of you. Kristi loved her family and valued her friends dearly. She was not afraid of hard work and viewed many challenges as a way of building character. A strong and independent woman, Kristi, also admired and respected family life and was dedicated to helping others live with purpose.
Kristi accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at White Temple Church of God in Christ and was a devoted Christian woman. She loved spreading the word of God to others. What she truly enjoyed the most was reading the bible, having devotion, journaling, and studying the word of God. That was her pure joy! Kristi was also instrumental in initiating a weekly zoom bicoastal prayer call that not only engaged many prayer warriors but helped form undying and supportive friendships.
Having parents that were both highly regarded educators, it was instilled in Kristi at an early age the importance of education. She graduated from Huntington High School, attended Southern University, and later received her Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering and Minor in Business Management/Mechanical Engineering from Howard University in May 2001. She later received her Master of Business Administration & Master of Project Management from Keller Graduate School of Management where she graduated with distinguished honors in 2005. Kristi also received numerous educational certifications such as a distinguished Six Sigma Green/Black Belt Certification from Georgia State University, Scrum Product Owner Certification, and the Digital Transformation Certification from the University of California, Berkeley.
Kristi was an avid swimmer, cyclist, and runner and participated in numerous triathlons. She enjoyed kickboxing and hiking, and was a certified scuba diver. She had an affinity for gospel, jazz, and country music and loved line dancing. The Dallas Cowboys was her favorite sports team and she never shied away from attending a Cowboys gathering even attending the season opener of the Dallas Cowboys in London, England. Her global travels expanded to the countries of China, Amsterdam, Holland, and Germany. She toured extensively in Paris, France and Monterey, Mexico, and has also traveled to Turkey, the Republic of South Africa, and Morocco. She gained countless friends and created lifetime memories from her domestic and international travels. She experienced life to the fullest and poured her heart and soul into everything she did. Kristi touched everybody’s lives and made it a point to make all those she encountered feel so important and special. She gave to those in need even when she did not have it for herself and would defend and stand up for her loved ones and friends.
She radiated confidence, led by example, and demanded excellence from herself, and her coworkers. Her work with various fortune 500 companies reads as a ‘Who’s Who of Corporations’ from working for the likes of AT&T, Newell- Rubbermaid, The Coca-Cola Company, Exxon Mobile Corporation, and Delta Airlines where she was able to showcase her prolific engineering and project management skills.
Her close friends knew her to be focused, accountable, and an all-around loving individual. With the most humility, Kristi had a voice and knew how to channel her opinions quite diplomatically. She inspired many, young and seasoned, and was admired for her tenacity and kindred spirit.
Her contagious smile is now gone but will always live in our hearts. Kristi is survived by her mother, Mrs. Pearl C. White of Shreveport, LA, sister, Dr. Tania White Jackson (Gary) of Frisco, TX, and brother, Rev. Walter N. White, Jr. (Shronda) of Rockwall, TX. She also leaves to cherish her nephews, Thomas H. Mims, III and Grant White Jackson, as well as her adorable nieces, Jasmin A. White, Gabrielle A. White, Alyssa S. Jackson, and Victorya A. White, as well as many relatives, and friends, and prayer warriors. Her compassionate care for others and her unselfish giving to her family and friends is her legacy that will always be remembered.
