... that even if you’ve never gone hungry, you’ll remember that there are people like me in the world who have never had enough to eat.
• Children and the very poor are among those hardest hit by pandemic lockdowns in 2020. While many countries remain closed to outside aid organizations, ALO-supported programs are already in place, caring for the needs of children.
• Forty-five percent of all deaths of children under the age of 5 are caused by malnutrition.
• From conception to age 5, children’s bodies need sufficient protein and calories as well as essential vitamins and minerals to grow and develop properly. A child who does not receive proper nutrition may have incomplete brain development, stunted growth, and increased risk of illness.
