Basic Vanilla Cake
This moist single-layer vanilla cake has a delicate texture and delectable crumb, but it's the old-fashioned browned-butter glaze that gives it a nutty flavour.

- 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 1/2 c. unsalted butter
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
