Ginger and Pickles sold red spotty pocket-handkerchiefs at a penny three farthings. (A farthing is an old english coin worth 1/4 of a penny. So a penny three farthings was worth one and three- quarters of a penny. A penny of course was worth much more back in the olden days.)
