Cornerstone Foundation is Dedicated to Serving
Credit Unions During These
Uncertain Times
Courtney Moran, Executive Director, Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation
Pandemic (noun): An outbreak of a disease that occurs over a wide geographic area and affects an exceptionally high proportion of the population.
Unprecedented (adjective): Without previous instance; never before known or experienced; unexampled or unparalleled.
The year 2020 has broadened our vocabulary, as I have confident that the Cornerstone Credit Union Foundation
found myself using these two words more over the
course of two months than in the last forty-six years combined. Like most, I have wanted to spring into action and help, personally and professionally.
A good nonprofit solves problems. A great one anticipates and asks the hard question, What is the worst that could happen? As a nonprofit leader for more than 20 years, I felt
was positioned to provide relevant tools to help credit union staff and members.
The Foundation has adequate reserves, is continually diversifying our revenue engines, and has created a disaster relief program to help those who, for the most part, believe the worst has happened to them. We are proud of our ability to step in quickly to assist our credit unions and their staff.
