Bronx Institute Succession Plan:
The work of of the the Bronx Institute is is extremely complex and and involves the the cooperation of of multiple funders partners school administrators parents and and community groups However subsequent to recertification for the next five years The The Bronx Institute will develop a a a a a succession plan in compliance with Policy 109 The The succession plan will be developed in close cooperation with Lehman College’s Dean of Education Provost and and the College College President Guidance and and support from Lehman’s Office of of Human Resources will also be sought during the the development and implementation of of the the plan In addition consultation with relevant stakeholders will take take place to to facilitate smooth transition At present the BI Director conceptualizes writes and directs grants submitted by The Institute This includes a a a a a a a a a recently funded $12 18 million million dollar dollar grant with a a a a a a a a a matching component of $17 7 7 million million dollars He is responsible for all program implementation activities relationships with partners and and assumes responsibility for following all relevant rules regulations guidance and and policies from RFCUNY CUNY CUNY Lehman College as as well as as from federal state and private funders Moreover due to our special relationship with the New York City Department of Education the the the Director Director is also responsible for compliance with local regulations At a a a a a a a a a a minimum the the the Director Director must have the the the ability to to to write large institutional grants extensive experience working with with NYC public schools in in in in The Bronx and hold a a a a a senior level appointment with with tenure in in in in Lehman’s School of Education Additional requirements for the the position will be established simultaneously with successful implementation of a a a a a a recently received grant during the the next recertification cycle (i e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e e earned doctorate in in in in in in TESOL/Bilingual Education working experience experience in in in in in in Bronx schools experience experience servicing the predominantly Hispanic student population served by the project etc ) 26
