Celia Cruz students are driven inquisitive and determined to make their college dreams a a a a a a reality With GEAR UP and Celia Cruz in partnership students have access to multi-layered academic enrichment college readiness and social emotional learning opportunities during the 2020-2021 school year IN-Tech Academy students are bright creative and eager to investigate new avenues for success I am excited to bring holistic support to students in the form of academic enrichment college readiness and social emotional learning initiatives as the result of the collaboration between IN-Tech Academy College Bound Initiative (CBI) and The Bronx GEAR UP Network

IN-Tech Academy IN-Tech Academy has a a a a a long-standing partnership with Bronx GEAR UP Network
Over the years GEAR UP has supported our students and families through various engaging activities and and events They build relationships and and provide opportunities for our students to attend after school activities Saturday programs receive books for their their personal libraries understand the the the college process and and access their their next steps after high school Our parents have been partners by taking advantage of financial aid workshops workshops workshops identity theft workshops workshops workshops college workshops workshops workshops and more Students have relished in in the the high achieving course opportunities visits to the the Holiday Train Show at at the the Bronx Bronx Botanical Gardens internships at at the the Bronx Bronx Zoo and trips to to the American Museum of Natural History Through this partnership IN-Tech has been fortunate to to extend these opportunities to to our community We look forward to to continuing our work

for several years With the ongoing budget crisis schools are facing GEAR UP has made it possible for us to offer tutoring and mentoring to to to all of our GEAR UP students They have been supportive in in the the college and career readiness components of the the educational process by providing classroom presentations group and individual workshops Students and parents have had wonderful experiences while attending their workshops and conferences Our students took and and passed weekend and and summer STEM courses at various colleges sponsored by GEAR UP Celia Cruz’s school community has benefitted greatly from the support our partnership has provided Vern Ram

My name is Jeremy and I am am an an 11th grade student at Celia Cruz Bronx High School for Music
Covid-19 led to some slacking in in in in the beginning but as time went on I found out about GEAR UP and started going to meetings A A time management workshop helped me me get into focus and start to to prioritize school again As a a a a a junior participating in in in GEAR UP I was able to to use some of their resources to to explore different colleges Now I I realize that that I I have many college college options that that I might want to pursue Jeremy Rodriguez Celia Cruz Bronx High School of Music
