Undy AFC Player Profiles
Oliver Smith – Midfielder. Grandson of our Life President, John Smith, Oliver is a very skilful and talented left sided player who loves to get forward. Guaranteed to get supporters off their seats. Yet another young player that has risen from our junior section and flourished within our senior football setup. Chris Parry – Midfielder/Centre Half and club captain. Chris always leads by example and is an exciting and combative midfielder who oozes class at whatever position he plays in. An ex-Royal Marine who has played for Hereford Town having risen through our youth setup. A local lad and trusted stalwart of the club that his father also played successfully for.
James Barnes – Midfielder. James has been with us for over ten years now and he is the engine room of our midfield, with energy in abundance. James has been integral to our rise through the leagues from the Gwent County league to where we are now and is a much valued member of our team. Supporters favourite. Sam Broadribb – Midfielder. Sam is one of the youngest members of our squad and he has perhaps the greatest potential. Released by Newport County and a key member of our trophy winning u18’s. Sam is very comfortable on the ball and only scores screamers. Developing into an important piece of the Undy jigsaw. Dan Tozer – Midfielder. Dan is the epitome of your ‘box to box’ midfielder. Great stamina and fitness with a keen eye for a pass or shot. Dan was a member of our youth team set-up before making the step up to senior football. Another local lad who helps coach within our u18’s set up and a player that we hope graces the Causeway for many seasons to come.
Harris Thomas – Midfielder. Youngest son of our manager Lewis. Harris is a youthful addition to our match day squad. At 17 years of age, he is one of the youngest players to represent our first team. With speed and agility that are above his age, he is a very exciting prospect that we are sure will flourish and mature over the coming season.
Giancarlo Gabbiadini – Forward/Midfield. This is Giancarlos’ first season in an Undy AFC shirt. He joins us having played previously for Cardiff Met and prior to that at Forest Green Rovers. Lightning quick, good luck in trying to work out which is his stronger foot.
Dan Jarman – Forward/Midfielder. Dan is another young player to have risen through the Undy ranks. A member of our team that gained promotion to the Welsh league ten yearso. Dan has explosive pace and a powerful shot, loves nothing better than to run at defenders.
Alex Jarman – Forward/Midfielder. Alex is Dan’s younger brother. Just as speedy and direct in his style of play. Alex has represented Wales at u18’s level having, like a number of our squad, graduated from our junior section. If that’s not enough Jarmans for you, watch out for the youngest Jarman brother, Hari. We hope to be able to name all three brothers in a matchday squad soon.
Rhys Thomas – Forward. This is Rhys’s second season at Undy having joined us from Cardiff Met. Where he played a number of Premier league games. No nonsense striker who is physical in stature and has finesse in front of goal. Always gives 100% for the team.
Gareth Cullimore – Forward. Gareth having played within our junior section has a wealth of Welsh league experience. He has played for a number of top clubs across South Wales and last season celebrated hitting the magical landmark of 200 goals for Undy AFC. He definitely knows where the back of the net is as he has bagged well over 350 goals in his Welsh league career so far.
Christian Mbongompasi – Forward. Chris joined us having played at Goytre. A very exciting player who is capable of turning games around. Strong and quick, Chris is a valued member of our matchday squad.
