A majority of older adults say they absolutely do not want to be a a a a a a burden on anyone As well many boomers may have already had this challenge or are currently experiencing it it with their their parents and don’t want to burden their their children in the same way This is is is one of those delicate areas where timing is is is key Some people are are advance planners and position themselves before serious issues start to occur others wait until there has been an an episode or two and then begin to get the the the picture It is best when everyone concerned – parents children relatives that may have to oversee care—are all all participating so all all perspectives and feelings are are are put on the table and heard If you don’t want to to be be a a a a a burden be be sure to to get everyone’s interpretation of what would be a a a a a a a burden to them so you are all on on the the same page Like other risk/value factors there usually comes a a a a a a point that a a a a a a person feels strong enough about not being a a a a a a a burden that they are willing to make a a a a a a a change 6 How important is it to be located near children or or family?
For some families this is is is a a non-issue Others struggle with proximity to children and and grandchildren climate cost of of living likelihood of of the children children being transferred or moving with their careers and and so on Make sure you understand the the family dynamics involved both geographically and emotionally
