Social Studies Dual Language Learning Centers
are a home-run for young
readers who must understand community, citizenship, economics, culture, and friendship. Specifically
built to align to TEKS, this program delivers the skill sets for success in life. These learning centers are
also available in paired Spanish language bringing the community studies home and getting the family
involved for a well-rounded approach.
STUDENTS
• Enables language acquisition
• Increases academic vocabulary and HOTS (higher-order thinking skills)
• Prepares students for paired, group, and independent success
• Builds language fluency, vocabulary comprehension, and confidence
ADMINISTRATORS
• Supports diverse student populations including ELLs and Dual Language Learners
• Increases academic vocabulary to enhance the performance on standardized tests for Social Studies, Language Arts, and Writing in either English or Spanish
TEACHERS
• Addresses a variety of dual language, ESL and language programs, but is also appropriate for all English Social Studies environments
• Guides teachers in research-based strategies
• Utilizes the new Bloom’s Taxonomy Model encouraging instruction at the analyzing, evaluating, and creating stages
PARENTS
• Encourages parents to take an active role in the themes and activities of each lesson
• Gives parents access to language support materials which includes the Social Studies-themed library in both book and eBook format
