 Even with her queendom and power she grew,
Her heart shrunk as did all of her colors
She no longer had gold or red nor the sky’s blue
Her fair complexion wrinkled by wrath and a warped sense of honor She said it was her right and destiny to be the one
Who could steal from others and reign
Whereas her greed did not let her realize she was wanted by none, She grew gray and curled weak as one old and insane
Indeed none more recognize her Fellows and blokes of every stroke
Having no leads nor things to infer
Of any but one who seeked a game
To fame and beauty, and to see all else choke For she would take all of the water
And she would feel no shame—“it did not matter!”
Hark, I as the beekeeper have warily seen What a hunger for all can do to a queen
And to warn all those who never knew of her name Liberty was truly her name, for it was once bespoke But none know her as other than the one titled Smoke
