LETTER FROM THE EDITOR
DEAR READER,
Welcome to the 2021 North Star Literary & Art Magazine!
We have included many incredible pieces by SUNY Plattsburgh students in this year's issue. With the collaboration of our wonderful hard working editors, our amazingly talented graphic designers, and our incredible advisor, Professor Elizabeth Cohen, we were successfully able to create a beautiful magazine themed Creation in Isolation. We dedicate this year’s magazine to the students and community of SUNY Plattsburgh! There is no question that these times have been hard on everyone; with changes in our life routines, the social isolations from friends and families, the restricted activities, the social unrest, and the horrific presence of an infectious disease. Building this issue required extra strength and cooperation. We are happy to present North Star 2021 with the hope it inspires, motivates and represents the way students have survived this year through their art and creativity. SUNY Plattsburgh students created brilliant work while isolating; each piece represents a singular response to the times.
I, personally, would like to share my gratitude to all the artists and writers who contributed to making this year’s issue happen. On behalf of North Star, we thank you for sharing. We hope everyone enjoys the magazine!
