Dear reader,
It is my pleasure to present the 2025 edition of North Star: Weathering the Storm!
In February of this year, our staff looked towards a future filled with uncertainty and dread. We decided then that we wanted this edition to be a safe haven for SUNY Plattsburgh students– an outlet to show our community how we weather this storm of a world.
Using art and creativity to overcome adversity is a tune older than time, and it is something worth nurturing. By reaching out to as many branches of campus as possible, we created a collection of work that not only showcases the creative talents and diversity of our student body, but emphasizes our shared passion for preserving through hardships.
In our increasingly digital world, our team this year wanted to prioritize the tangible. For the first time in four years, North Star is returning to print in a special way. Roughly 70 copies of the magazine were printed and hand bound by the North Star staff.
A special thank you to our advisor, Dr. Guzzio, the English Department Chair Dr. Ostry, Dr. Reznick, and Professor Moffett for donating prints and supporting our efforts.
