This being the case, it took quite little on my grandma’s part to convince them to stay the rest of the game. I was left to be pleasantly surprised to hear Quinn’s emphatic “GO KELLER!” from the stands when I got a steal early in the third quarter. By the time it was all said and done, we had lost by a few points. I played well, earning more awe from my sibling, as well as the promise of congratulatory ice cream on the part of Grandma.
It was on the way back from said ice cream that it happened. We passed a billboard for Hillary Clinton, and despite my internal urgings for them to miss it, Quinn noticed. “Oh, I hope Hillary becomes president!” This youthful enthusiasm was met with a bit of a snort from my grandmother.
