Our theme– Weathering the Storm– had me ask myself the question, “What storms are we currently facing?” Once that came to my mind is artificial intelligence. Generative AI threatens to destroy the creative process found in art and writing. However, it’s clear that in its current state, it fails to create something that is truly human. Instead it can only attempt to mimic our brains and beings by mangling together ideas stolen from other artist's works. And so, I was captured by that idea: AI and its inability to recreate the human essence.
