Pajama Pants After A Shower
Sometimes life,
Feels like trying to put pajama pants on After a shower
While your feet are still slightly wet.
You keep shoving your foot into the pant leg Even though it keeps getting stuck,
Which only makes you push harder.
You know you should stop,
Take your foot out,
And try again,
This time slower, and maybe try pulling at the fabric To assist your foot
With its descent.
But you don’t take your foot out. You keep shoving, breathing hard, Getting angrier and angrier
With each shove of your damp foot Against the clingy fabric.
And only after you are out of breath,
And you are red in the face,
And your heart is racing,
And you feel like the rage might finally consume you,
Only then does your foot pop out the bottom of the pant leg.
And you stare for a minute, In relief and utter rage, Wondering why
That was so damn hard.
