It is my distinct pleasure on behalf of the New Rochelle White Plains Alumni Chapter to welcome you to the 91st Northeastern province Council meeting. Since it's chartering in 1972, the New Rochelle White Plains Alumni Chapter (NRWP) has proudly served both the Westchester and Rockland County communities through its ongoing programs and initiatives that provide support and services to brothers, youths, and families. The past 48 years has been filled with diligent and dedicated work through achievement, leadership, and service in the name of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc.
During the past year, we faced uncertainty at the highest level with the COVID-19 Pandemic but our diligence and commitment to serve in our communities was more important than ever. The theme for this year is “Not Just Words but Deeds “because we believe that action has no season. As we entered a time of uncertainty, we approached it with a promising outlook and mobilization plan in the face of adversity, still we rise. Against the torrent of a pandemic, racial injustice, food insecurities and, transition to a virtual environment, still we rise. For the future of our children and our communities, still we rise.
Our Guide Right program continued to mentor over 120 male youth through our national award-winning Kappa League program. Our social Action committee provided countless food and community service to various churches, municipalities, hospitals, community and youth centers throughout the Westchester and Rockland County communities monthly. Our fundraising committee continued to raise record-breaking funds to support all our worthy initiatives. Our affiliated foundation, the Lower Hudson Valley Diamond Foundation provided over $25,000 in scholarships to graduating high school scholars.
I am honored to be this Chapter's 22nd Polemarch as we host the 91st Northeastern Province Council. The brothers of the New Rochelle White Plains Alumni Chapter have been working tirelessly to ensure an inspiring and entertaining weekend. We are also delighted to honor a few individuals that are making significant impact in our communities.
We would like to thank all our guests for your attendance, journal ads and your support throughout this past year. Our spirit and resiliency are what define us as a people and by participating in this weekend, and by continuing to be actively involved, we do in fact ensure that our communities will continue to thrive with “Not Just Words but Deeds.”
