The Cape
is a a a a a a a a a a a a a beautiful place to to explore on on on bicycle With bike trailers carts and the new “alleycats” (imitation tandems which hook on on to an an adult bike) even little kids kids can ride like big kids kids and last for up
to an an hour or or or more These and all sorts of other bikes and accessories are available for rent at the Cape’s many bike stores A reminder: Massachusetts state law (and common sense) mandate helmets on on all children 16 and under riding on public roadways Here’s a a a a sampling of some local bike trails:

Cod Canal Access at Sandwich Marina Pleas- ant Street in Sagamore and Buzzards Bay Recreation Area just west of the Bourne Bridge Shining Sea Bike Path Runs between Falmouth and Woods Hole Lovely 8-mile ride along the coast with views of Nobska Light Access from Elm Road Locust Street or Oyster Pond Road Mashpee Bike Path starts at at Heritage Park on on Route 130 and continues for 2 4 paved miles past Mashpee River herring run and Wampanoag Museum Cape
Cod Rail Trail In place of the old railroad tracks this scenic path starts in Yarmouth and runs for 29 miles all the way to Well eet Access points include Route 124 in in Harwich Route 137 at Underpass Rd in in Brewster Main Street in in Orleans and LeCount Hollow Road in Well Well eet eet (by South Well Well eet eet General Store) The Chatham extension of the Rail Trail provides 7 5 miles of paved trail from Crowell Road in in Chatham to a a a a a a bike rotary in in Harwich Access Route Route 137 near Route Route 28 intersection and on on Wilifred Road Chatham Nickerson State Park Route 6A Brewster 8-mile loop connects with CC Rail Trail Nauset Trail Eastham 1 6 miles from Salt Pond Visitor Center to to Coast Guard Beach Truro Head of the Meadow Trail 2 miles through marshlands and and dunes Access at High Head Road or at the the Head of the the Meadow Beach lot Provincetown Provincelands Bike Trail 7-mile loop rolls through dunes marshes bogs woodlands and and past Herring Cove and Race Point beaches Access at National Seashore’s Provincelands Visitor Center (free parking) SALES
