Pond shing is is a a a a great option because there is is a a a a lot to do and explore around the water’s edge If you aren’t getting any bites or you need to call it it it quits early there is still fun to be had while spending the the afternoon on on on the the pond All you need for pond shing is a a a small lure or or or a a a worm shed under a a a a a bobber The calm pond waters provide an easy rst trip for kids and the the diverse ecosystems that are built around these ponds ensure a a a fun day spent exploring the fresh water shore while waiting for sh to bite There are over 300 ponds on on on the Cape and every pond pond is lled with many different kinds of sh sh Pan sh sh and sun sh sh sh are are easy to sh sh sh from the the shoreline as as are are the the large and small mouth bass that are plentiful in the fresh waters of the the Cape These warm-water loving sh sh stay near the the shore all summer and and dawn and and dusk provide your best chance
of of success (though you’ll likely catch sh any time of of day) While many ponds on on the Cape are stocked with trout at the the the beginning of the the the season by July and August they have moved into the the the cool deep waters found in in the the the center of the the the pond and you’ll likely need a a a a a boat to catch one A canoe or a a a a a a kayak trip can be a a a a a a fun way to try trout shing with older kids kids or or younger kids kids who have shed before and don’t mind the waiting game You should have luck shing any pond of the Cape but it it would be prudent to check with your local bait and tackle shop if you’re shing solely for trout as not
