RAWF DIRECTOR REP – REGINA BAEZNER
Some reflections on the 2014 show and some changes that are in development for 2015 are as follows:
 The RAWF wanted to thank the Ontario Percheron Horse Association for choosing them as our
Provincial Show in 2014. The Provincial Show was very well received and the RAWF would welcome the OPHA back in 2015. The Association has been asked to submit any requests for changes in 2015 to the RAWF organizers. Please submit your requests to the OPHA Secretary and they will be discussed at the OPHA Board of Directors next meeting along with other requests for consideration. Requests will be submitted by the OPHA Board to the Royal.
 In 2014, Percheron line class exhibitor numbers were up over the prior year. 92 animals shown in 2014 versus 82 in 2013.
 The RAWF is working on RV parking and fees for 2015, looking to get better pricing. They have indicated that whatever happens in 2015, it will be better communicated. The Fair is also looking to get better pricing with the Royal York Hotel.
 As a result of incidences in 2014, the RAWF is going to increase security around trailer parking.
 One item that will be focused on in 2015 is the issue of transient horses. These are horses that are not
being shown at the Fair and that are being housed in empty stalls for short periods before going on to a next destination. The RAWF will be cracking down on this activity in 2015, with substantial fines for horses that are identified as being transients. The amounts of the fines are currently under discussion.
The RAWF is starting to ramp up for the 2015 Horse show. The schedule for the 2015 show is under development and the RAWF doesn’t anticipate many changes from the prior year. The Fair dates for 2015 are from November 6th – 15th, 2015. The exhibitors schedule is not yet available on the Royal Website, with final schedules expected to be posted after September 15th check the website is www.royalfair.org for updates. There will be more information and details available after meetings scheduled later this summer.
