PERFORMING ARTS. THE PERFORMING ARTS ARE ABUNDANT IN THE RIVER VALLEY AREA. IN ADDITION TO AMERICAN PLAYERS THEATRE, GROUPS OF ALL SIZES AND DISCIPLINES ENRICH THE AREA WITH DANCE, MUSIC, AND THEATER.
River Valley Players. Established in 1972, River Valley Players is the community theater association for the River Valley area. RVP’s primary goal is to provide high-quality productions, both classical and contemporary, produced and performed by area residents. The group also sponsors theater-related events such as classes and workshops in acting and stagecraft, and assists the River Valley High School in producing their annual musical. RVP is a volunteer organization and is open to anyone of any age who would like to be involved either on-stage or behind the scenes. www.rivervalleyplayers.org

The White Church THEATRE Project. Nestled in the Wyoming Valley, just south of Spring Green, sits a 1902 Methodist Church now the residency of the “Franco-American” Theatre de l’Ange Fou and International School of Corporeal Mime. Led by directors Steven Wasson and Corinne Soum, the Theatre has created many original plays and adaptations, ranging from duets to large ensemble work. Wyoming Valley School Cultural Arts Center. A Frank Lloyd Wright-designed school that now promotes the arts and culture of the surrounding area. The building provides an incomparable space for workshops, performances, lectures, and exhibits. Check the website for programming and events.
