ISABEL RAFIDI DIRECTOR’S ADDRESS
Welcome to our new look monthly newsletter! We would love your feedback as we review our current resources to make them more accessible online to our families. This flip book style is what we are working with for our parent handbooks, resources and key updates. Our goal is to be more user friendly, secure, accessible and sustainable! The new resources will be available via a secure page for our families.
For our current families who will be enrolling new bubs to our care in the later half of the year, we will be using our new resources for your enrolment and would love to hear what you think. If there is a particular tool or resource you would like to see part of the DMW library, be sure to see Isabel or email enquiries@discovermyworld.com.au
Program update:
In 2019 we have extended our program cycle for observing children. Our objective is to provide more meaningful updates on your child’s growth and achievements based on various goals and age appropriate development. What this means is you will still receive a number of snaps each day and week showcasing your child’s engagement, voice, interactions and journey. In addition you will receive detailed updates (observations) throughout each month as your child works towards key areas of development including emotional, social, creative, cognitive, language and physical. As always we continue to welcome your contributions and feedback as this shapes our program and how it grows.
In 2019 we have made a decision to move away from the traditional creative portfolios and instead will be sending home art more frequently throughout the year. We'll be posting your child's artworks and creative experiences to Kinderloop with some detail about the experience and learning. We will then place your child's artwork in a safe place to send home for you to keep.
We are excited about this new evolution of our program and our ongoing commitment to quality and sustainable practice. We are extremely excited to share more videos, posts and snaps regularly to show you not only the product of your child's learning journey but the process and the skills involved. We are really proud of our confident and capable learners of every age and look forward to sharing their pieces with you on a regular basis
DMW Parent Survey:
It is almost time for our anonymous parent survey. While we love to welcome feedback personally and encourage our families to continue doing so, our survey is focused on key goals of the service in line with our National Quality Standards and allows you to be 100% honest. If there is something you would like to see change or improved, providing more detail enables us to look into the area further and to take action. Look out for a link on Kinderloop in the coming week!
