Page 17 - Welcome to CEIST
P. 17

I’m not a Catholic, why should I vote for a Catholic school?
In our 107 schools, students of all beliefs and none are welcome. Diversity is important to us and accommodating difference is never a problem; in fact, we welcome it.
The first thing to say is that our 107 schools offer a world view and a set of values that is invitational; we do not impose anything on anyone in our schools. In every one of our 107 schools, there is tremendous diversity. This is real life. Our students learn how to live and work with people whose views and perspectives are all very different. In fact, if we did not have this diversity, we know our schools would be very different, less rich places.
We know that many parents who are not Catholic or who are not practising
Catholics, share the values we hold in a CEIST school; a commitment to
excellence, a recognition of the importance of a rounded and balanced curriculum, an understanding that there should be inclusion of everyone, an acceptance of the importance of community and a desire to share values with students that give meaning, sense and direction to the lives of their children; our students.
I am coming more from a faith perspective, why should I vote to have a CEIST school in my town?
We also know that Catholic parents and indeed parents of other faith tradi- tions, value a Catholic education not only because of the excellence in education but because the philosophy that pins this education really makes sense to them in their own lives (link here to CSP document - file:///C:/Users/ KateLiffey/Downloads/CSP%20FAQ.pdf and file:///C:/Users/KateLiffey/ Downloads/catholic-education-at-second-level%20(4).pdf
Whatever your faith, we will support you by providing for an education for your child that remains true to your values and beliefs. For Catholic parents, this will of course mean great continuity; building on what their children have received by way of a Catholic education in their local Catholic Primary schools while valuing, as a marker of a great Catholic school, the diversity that is at the heart of CEIST education.
