P. 20
If you value diversity and other Patrons value diversity, what is the difference between a CEIST school and other types of schools?
The Catholic view of education is very simple. Every person is made in the image and likeness of God. It is a very simple belief in which a lot of people who would not necessarily describe themselves as very religious, can see the value. This belief actually makes inclusion a requirement https:// www.jmb.ie/News-topics/Article/revised-jmb-guidelines-on-the-inclusion-of- students-of-different-beliefs-in-catholic-secondary-schools
It also means that we have a rich vision for the common good as a Catholic school and also a rich vision for the good of each of our students. Our beliefs mean we will gently and sensitively encourage our students to do their best; we get the most out of our students in terms of their academic achievements but also in terms of their personal, social and emotional development. Discipline matters but the kind of discipline that encourages self-discipline matters even more. We foster that kind of discipline.
Our beliefs mean we will value a broad and deep curriculum and robust assessment models. Our beliefs mean we will provide a state of the art building, staffed by excellent teachers and lead by inspiring leaders in our schools. Our beliefs mean we will put your child at the centre of all that we do with a very strong emphasis on wellbeing, independence and endeavour. Our approach will help your son or daughter to achieve his/her potential.
Finally, because our new school is a Catholic
school we know that it will be a school that
values your voice and your perspective.
You are the first educators of your children; our
role is to assist you in all that you do. You know your child best so we will work with you to help get the best from your son or daughter. Because of that we value your input and we listen to your perspective.
