A former coaching inn, The Arundell sits in the centre of Lifton, the most westerly corner of Devon in the Lyd valley. This unique location, on the side of the old A30, puts it at the heart of all that the counties of Devon and Cornwall have to offer. From the scenery of the Tamar and Lyd Valleys, Dartmoor & the North Cornwall coast through to the sourcing of both Cornish and Devon local produce.
Its central location, reputation for fantastic food and relaxed atmosphere have long attracted travellers, fishers, lovers of the countryside and those looking for a base to explore the region.
The hotel has a total of
- 25 en-suite bedrooms and
- A lovely 2 bedroom self-catering cottage.
We have 13 bedrooms in the main hotel, 8 dog-friendly rooms in the Coach house with direct access to the gardens; 4 rooms located just on the other side of the road in Church Cottage; and a 2 bedroom cottage attached to the hotel. Our combination of self-catering and hotel accommodation are ideal for large groups, functions, weddings and business conferences.
Our rooms are comfortable and homely. Rooms range from simple standard doubles, through to superior king size, twin or our beautiful super king suites. The self-catering Fishing Cottage has a twin and a double bedroom as well as a small sitting room with an open-fire and a small kitchen/diner.
