Over the course of the 8 weeks doing the project I have realised so much. How common mental illness is being one, and also the power and e!ect an image can have. My aim with this was to make an image that can be understood without my having to explain what I was trying to do. I feel as though I did that. I knew going into this that covering such an important topic would be di$cult, and at times it was. Reading through people stories and struggles has an impact, especially when combined with images of people I know. These images I hope bring a light to the issue of depression as well as the fact that so many people can have depression and you may not know. These people can be in amongst everyone else and because of ‘The masks we wear’ it isn’t noticed and therefore the condition some people get to is so dire they take their own lives, and you might've never known they were struggling.
