Back 2 School Illinois (B2SI), the state’s largest free school supplies program, will host hundreds of Chicago educators, community and business leaders and supporters at its annual Kickoff Dinner, in an effort to raise money for its programs to support underserved Illinois students. The event supports the organization’s mission to provide students from low-income families with school supplies for their educational growth.
B2SI works to improve students’ educational outcomes through its ongoing distribution of school supply kits. Throughout B2SI’s lifetime, nearly five million school supplies have been provided to over 200,000 students in Illinois, with hopes to increase its kit distribution and healthy lifestyle initiatives in years to come. The 2018 Kickoff Dinner is one of the organization’s primary fundraising initiatives to support their efforts of creating educational opportunities that will enrich the lives of the 1 million+ Illinois students currently living below the poverty line.
