A few generations of ducks By Alain Duport (France), translated by Edward De Beukelaer (UK)
The story starts in 1982. The patients are ducklings, bred for the production of foie gras.
The previous 2-3 years, all ducklings used to become ill at 18 days old. They had a discharge form the eyes, they became very tired and up to 90% died in a few days.
Everything conventionally had been tried and the farmer was considering to stop the production of foie gras. Homeopathy got one chance to avoid the enterprise to collapse.
Observation: β€˜It starts with a yellow discharge from the eyes which is excoriating on the nose. More or less at the same time, they start limping: the distal part of their legs swells as if there is an oedema. On autopsy this swelling contains a gooey liquid. The muscles of the legs melt away and they become paralysed before they die. The evolution of this illness is worse when there is a change in weather.’’
