within the family: for the first time when her bigger sister was bothering her, she reacted violently and in the end the sister was afraid of her. She became very clear in her needs and changed into a young self-confi- dent – and as her mother said – very special and reflecting teenager.
Case II “Murli”, a very shy and timid female cat with crusty eczema all over the body worst around the tail. “Murli” had huge problems in social skills (casetaking 1999). She could never fight or stand up for herself. The eczema was neither very painful nor itchy. In times of stress the crusts aggravated.
She was a very curious little fragile girl and interestingly she moved her head by craning her neck and then turning it carefully to the direction she wanted to look. When being touched or held, she became very stiff and my impression was she retreated herself in her body. She never hissed or hit me with her paw. She avoided every confrontation with other cats in the garden. As repertorisation couldn’t give me any reliable result, I followed my instinct and gave her Cepaea Hortensis C30.
Follow-up: again the results were extraordinary and the remedy worked until she died 15 years old in 2004. Her crusts had nearly disap- peared within 14 days, hairs regrew much quicker than expected. Although she kept being a very mild personality, she started to stand up for herself and now and then chased other cats out of the garden. A few repetitions of the remedy were needed throughout the years when there were stressing events like a new aggressive tomcat moving into the neighbourhood.
So the idea was born to prove the remedy to get a complete picture.
The Proving of Cepaea Hortensis
The proving took place in February/March 2000 as a single blind (unknown remedy for the provers) proving with 25 volunteers, mostly homeopathic doctors and vets, both sex, age 22 to 78 who were partici- pants of a congress in Germany. The proving started 4 weeks before the congress with answering a questionaire and daily protocols. Sympthoms were processed and gathered at the congress. About 600 symptoms occurred related to the proving, leading to 324 registered rubrics (old and new)
Compared with other provings (30 supervised provings by the author) the distribution was regular: the variation was all over the chapters of the repertory with over-average [number of] topics.
