The Art and Science of Veterinary Medicine
became an ambassador to many countries and conferences; notably attending Liga in Vienna in 1973; courses in the USA in the 1980s; and a veterinary congress in Italy 1992
George went on to help instigate Veterinary Membership of the Faculty of Homeopathy in 1987; he was awarded VetMFHom; then created VetFFHom in 1992. He also founded the Homoeopathic Development Foundation.
Added to all this activity was the writing and publishing of books on a range of species: Cattle, Horses, Pigs, Goats, Dogs, Cats; also a Veterinary Materia Medica and articles in BHJ and Homeopathy. He co-wrote a Handbook of Homoeopahtic Remedies for Animals and Homoeopathy in Practice.
George MacLeod was gentle and gentlemanly in all his manners but a giant in his homoeopathic achievements and contribution to the Art and Science of Veterinary Medicine at all levels.
The need for both Art and the Science ensures our Humility
The application of both Art and Science engages our Humanity
The beauty and mystery of both Art and Science defines Homoeopathy
We remember a great practitioner of both, and honour George MacLeod.

“The body consists of three parts-
the brainium, the borax and the abominable cavity.
The brainium contains the brain, the borax contains the heart and lungs, and the abominable cavity contains the bowels, of which there are five - a,e,i,oandu.”

Educating and Organising Vets (or Herding Cats)
George, like all great practitioners of their art and seekers of knowledge, also had a passion for sharing that knowledge, supporting and widening his colleagues’ success and abilities, and improving things for the animals in the care of the profession.
In 1981, he was a founder member of BAHVS and President until 1992. He insisted on, and setting up courses for vets alongside medical training during the 1980s, at RLHH. He gave many lectures in the UK and abroad; and
